About Saphire

SAPHIRE is an exclusive program with fast, secured and privileged airport services to enhance travel conveniences for travel minded people in Asia. This exclusive program offers a variety of privileges at the airport, such as the preferred VIP parking in front of the terminal, preferred security lane, preferred check-in treatment with airlines participating in SAPHIRE program and Automatic Border Passage (ABP) which enables customers to fast track through the immigration using the iris recognition technology, both upon departure and arrival.

By using the very accurate iris recognition technology to detect an individual identity, it will only take 10 seconds for SAPHIRE members to pass through immigration. In principle, anyone can be a SAPHIRE member, as long as they fulfill the Immigration requirements and at least 1.40 m tall since the members must be able to look into the iris scanner, which is installed at a height of 1.30 m. Indonesia is the first to implement such service and technology in Asia and currently SAPHIRE operates only at Soekarno - Hatta International Airport Jakarta.
